Please note, the language around pelvic floor muscle (PFM) tension has shifted since I recorded this.
Instead of referring to the PFM's as "hypertonic" or "hypotonic", we are now encouraging the use of the word tension. Tone can be confusing with a neuromuscular tone and this is not what we are typically experiencing unless the person has a neuromuscular diagnosis.
We can think of the PFM's as having increased tension or decreased tension.
This section will review the foundational concepts of the pelvic floor muscles and how they fit into various systems throughout the body.
Please enjoy this bonus content as a review for what we are going to be diving into during the live workshop.
Not to worry if you do not have the time in advance! These will remain here for future access and we will be reviewing all of this during our time together as we explore these concepts in our own bodies.
